Year 9 vaccinations – Wednesday 7 March 2018

The School Age Immunisation Team will be visiting school to deliver Teenage Booster (Tetanus, Diptheria & Polio) and Meningitis ACWY vaccinations to Year 9 students on Wednesday 7 March 2018.

Further information and a consent form has been given to Year 9 students today to bring home to parents/carers.  We would ask parents/carers to read the form carefully, complete this and return it to the School Office as soon as possible and by no later than Friday 19 January 2018.  You can also click here to view/download the letter, and click here to view/download the consent form.

Please be aware that parents/carers still need to complete the form even if they do not wish their son/daughter to receive these vaccinations.  In addition, please note that failure to return the form will not be taken to mean refusal, and your child may then be immunised after giving their own consent, if deemed competent.

For further information on vaccinations for school-age children, please refer to the NHS Choices website by clicking the link below:

If you have any specific queries, you can contact the School Age Immunisation Team direct on 01283 707170 option 3.

If your son/daughter does not bring the information and consent form home, please contact the School Office on 01773 825281.  Year 9 students who are away from school today will have the information and consent form posted home to their parents/carers.

These are the only vaccinations scheduled at present.  HPV initial and booster vaccinations for female students (which protects against cervical cancer) will be next on the programme, and are expected to be scheduled at some point during the Summer term.  We will notify students and parents as soon as we have any further information.

Separated Parents’ Policy

We have recently updated our Separated Parents Policy in accordance with revised guidance from Derbyshire County Council, and with effect from Thursday 1 February 2018, we will no longer routinely send out correspondence to parents/carers not at the student’s home address.  All those affected have been written to.  You can view/download the letter by clicking here.

Parent Portal and student reports

The latest progress reports for students are now available to view via the Parent Portal.  To can access this online via the Parents Link tab (under Services) on our school website or  directly at http://eportal.belperschool.co.uk

The last reports for this academic year will be available on the Parent Portal as follows:

Monday 16 July 2018 from 5pm (Years 7-10 and Year 12)

If you do not have access to Parent Portal then please contact the School Office who can send you an application pack or click here to download a copy.  Completed forms should be returned to the School Office who will then arrange for your username and password to be posted to you.  If you have more than one child in school then their data can usually be accessed with just one account.  If you do not have Internet access available to you then we have a dedicated computer terminal located in visitor reception which you can use to access Parent Portal.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you are unable to make use of our online reporting system and will be happy to make an alternative arrangement for you to access your child’s termly report.

School for Stammerers
