September 2011
Welcome to our September newsletter. We are a small group of
parents who are keen to support the school through activities that
are sociable, enjoyable and hopefully also raise some money!
We aim to fund things that will benefit the maximum number of
students, and have liaised with the student council for ideas of
what to buy. In the last few years we have raised money that has
contributed to the purchase of more student lockers, outdoor seating
and outdoor water fountains.
Quiz and Chips
Nights
Our previous three quiz and chip nights
have been fun and attracted good support
from parents and students. Our volunteer
quizmaster has challenged us across a range
of subjects, including local Belper knowledge.
Our next quiz and chips night is planned
for Fri 14th Oct in Sammy Crooks at Belper
Leisure Centre, 7.30pm. Come along and
join in, entry on the door is £3, including
George’s chips!
BELPER SCHOOL PTA
After a number of scusseful years of running the PTA the current committee have decided that they need to hand over to new members. If you would like to get involved with the PTA please contact John Young at Belper School for further information.
Particular thanks go to Lisa and Mary who have acted as the co- chair and kept us focused on raising funds for so many things that have supported our children at Belper School.

Through fundraising such as music events, Quiz and Chip nights, School fairs, roundtable events and Click.com
we have been able to raise significant amounts of money to buy:
Curtains for the Hall
Benches
Lockers
We now want to buy additional outdoor Oak tables (like those outside the Art Block) for the students to sit at during breaks and external water fountains to provide water for pupils outside of the main buildings.
Please support us by giving of your time, attending our events or even giving a small amount of money (every penny counts)
Every bit of money is used in partnership with school to make your child’s experience at Belper School that much better.
We will be updating these pages to tell you about events that are happening directly, so that you don't have to rely on a piece of paper getting to you in the school bag.
