Headteacher Appointment

We are pleased to announce that Mr Nick Goforth will be the new headteacher with effect from 1 September 2019. There was a good field of candidates comprising existing headteachers and experienced deputies from other schools. Interviews took place over a three-day period by a team of 7 governors, supported by Local Authority advisers, staff and students, culminating in Mr Goforth’s appointment.

Mr Goforth joins us from Hastings High School in Leicestershire, where he has been headteacher for over 7 years, after having taught in a number of other schools in Nottingham.  The governors were impressed by Mr Goforth’s track record of improvements at his existing and previous schools, and by his focus on care and excellence for students, his drive and commitment, and his desire to take the school forward building on its current success.

I am sure you will join us in welcoming Mr Goforth to Belper School in September and give him your full support as he starts his new role.
