With effect from September 2015, The School Age Immunisation Service for Derbyshire has been responsible for providing all immunisations for children and young people who are of school age.
We currently host the North Derbyshire Immunisation Team twice a year when they provide the following vaccinations to students:
- Year 9 ACWY and Teenage Booster vaccinations – Spring Term
- Year 8/9 (female students only) Human Paapillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations – Summer Term
Please note that, as the NHS have arranged for these vaccinations to be delivered in school, these are no longer offered routinely at the GP surgery.
If you have any queries regarding the vaccination programme, please contact the School Age Immunisation Team direct on 01283 707170 and select option 3.
NEXT VACCINATIONS – HPV – 9 MAY 2018
All Year 8 female students will be offered HPV vaccinations. These consist of two doses by injection; one to be given in Year 8 and the second in Year 9. The Immunisation Service will be visiting school on Wednesday 9 May 2018 to deliver the first vaccination to Year 8 female students.
A consent form has been sent home with students today. Parents/carers will need to read and complete this form carefully and return it to the School Office as soon as possible and by no later than Friday 23 March 2018.
- You still need to complete the form even if you do not wish your daughter to receive the vaccination.
- As the NHS have arranged for these vaccinations to be delivered in school, these are no longer offered routinely at the GP surgery.
If your daughter received the first vaccination in school last year, there is no need for you to complete a further consent form.
If your daughter did not receive the first vaccination last year and you would like her to receive this in May with the second dose in Year 10, please contact the School Office and we will arrange for you to be sent the appropriate consent form.
If you require any further information regarding this vaccination, please contact the School Age Immunisation Team direct on 01283 707170 and select option 3. The letters sent to parents/carers are also available to view/download below (paper copies are also available on request from the School Office)
