Virtual Run 2019 Presentation Night

On Wednesday 12 June 2019 we held our Presentation Night! Staff, students and community supporters joined us to celebrate an amazingly successful fundraiser.

Food was prepared by Sixth Form students who are studying Food, Science and Nutrition alongside their Technology teachers.

Before the awards began we had time to enjoy the refreshments and watch a short presentation that included photos from the challenge.

Mr Cooper stood up to the plate to welcome everyone and to present the medals and prizes. Every participant received a bespoke Belper School Virtual Run 2019 medal.

Huub Design kindly donated lunchboxes won by Claire Miller, for the lovely photo of Evelyn in Plymouth and Barbara Godkin – our most enthusiastic supporter!

All category winners received their medals beautifully framed, courtesy of Hall of Frames, one of sponsors; and were presented with additional prizes.

The winners were:

• Student Runner – Daniel Smith received a Fitbit Inspire donated by The Stay Company and a £30 voucher from Huub Design.

• Student Walker – James Evennet-Bowker received a Fitbit Inspire sponsored by Amcor Flexibles.

• Staff Runner – Jody Shipley received a £50 Derby Runner voucher, sponsored by Robstock Ltd.

• Staff Walker – Rosie Spears received a £50 Peakdale Outdoors voucher, sponsored by Amcor Flexibles.

• Community Runner – Richard Bartles received a £50 Derby Runner voucher, sponsored by Abbeywood Packaging.

• Community Walker – Teri Bradley received a £30 Peakdale Outdoors voucher, sponsored by Amcor Flexibles.

Our other sponsors, Bargate Design and Mipa Paints, sponsored the cost of the extra medals we had to order once numbers started to grow.

Amcor Flexible not only sponsored the Peakdale Outdoors vouchers but thanks to their generosity, we were able to upgrade the presentation night with drinks and nibbles.

Staff and students who were unable to make the presentation night will be receiving their medals at staff briefing and assembly over the following weeks. Well done to Lisa Lee’s tutor group for having the most participants, they have all received a Jog Derbyshire buff.

The final figures are now in and we are delighted to say that we have raised £2600, which will be used towards improving our IT provision within school.

The Virtual Run Team are so grateful for all the support they have had and are already planning for Belper School Virtual Run April 2020!
