Power outage - April 2006

Important information for all users of belperschool.co.uk

All sites hosted at Belper School will be unavailable from 4pm Friday 7th April until Wednesday 20th April.

As you may be aware, we are currently in the process of extending the School. Unfortunately as part of this work, the main power distribution board for the building will need to be replaced.

Backup generators will be installed to provide enough power to keep vital systems running (alarms, emergency lighting, etc.), but there will not be enough power to operate our full computer network. We will however be able to operate enough servers to allow incoming email, meaning that no email will be bounced during this period.

Sites that will be affected:

  • intranet.belperschool.co.uk
  • www.belperschool.co.uk
  • students.belperschool.co.uk
  • primary.belperschool.co.uk
  • www.heagewindmill.co.uk
  • horsewatch.belperschool.co.uk
  • highedge.belperschool.co.uk
  • www.takeitfurther.co.uk

Belper School's new art block

The facilities inside are an excellent addition to our teaching resources. The building design echoes the structure of the Leisure Centre at the opposite end of the site.

Underfloor heating, environmental controls, motorised sunscreens and re-use of rainwater mean that this is one of the most environmentally sustainable buildings in the area.

This commitment to supporting the excellent education students receive in the arts at Belper School was recognised by the award last year of the Arts Mark Silver.
