Year 7

A big welcome to our year 7 students!

We are very much looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday 6th September.
The school day starts at 8:40am but please be in school by 8:35am.
Year 7 students will be welcomed at the Art gates by the Headteacher and the Head of Year. There will be signs to direct the students to where they need to go.
Students need to bring a pencil case with them on the first day containing basic equipment (a couple of black/blue pens, a coloured pen, a couple of pencils, a ruler, a rubber and a sharpener). Students also need to bring their subject taster booklet they were given during the transition days.
Other equipment e.g. planner and Knowledge organisers will be given to students during the first week of school.

Year 7 is an important year in the life of a student; for some it is the fresh start that they need and for all it is an opportunity to build on the great foundations laid down at their Primary School. We work hard with students, their families and previous schools to ensure that the transition to Belper School is as smooth and successful as possible.

We all know that pastoral care is vital to the wellbeing and success of our students so we remain vigilant to issues and do our very best to resolve them as swiftly and efficiently as possible. The tutor team also strives to embed the expectations and good practices to allow students to fully access the broad and balanced curriculum that we offer.
